Cromogenia Units continues in its commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment. An aim that is also achieved allocating efforts to reduce the carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency and effectiveness.
For this reason, with the goal of optimizing and reducing the energy consumption of factory 3, located in Barcelona, the existing boilers have been replaced by a new, more efficient steam boiler that also incorporates a gas saving system, carries out the oxygen control and verifies through a surveillance system.
Improving the energy efficiency
Thanks to this project and the new boiler, energy efficiency has been improved, achieving a thermal energy saving of 88.37 toe/year, as well as a reduction in CO2 emissions.
This project has been subsidized by the «Aid Program for Energy Efficiency Actions in SME and large companies in the industrial sector”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and managed by the Institut Català d’Energía (ICAEN) charged to the National Energy Efficiency Fund.
